Did I tell you that Brooklyn Boy planned our honeymoon and never told me where we were going? It became this fun game of me constantly exclaiming "Come on! Just give me one hint!!!" and him making up some hint that would send me searching through google maps of the Caribbean. 

Truth is, I LOVED not knowing. It was one less thing for me to plan and think about and lets be honest, I was in very capable hands :) Remember this surprise plan??!!

The big question was, When the heck is he going to tell me?! 

Turns out, after we were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Brooklyn Boy and recessed out of the sanctuary, I turned to him and said WE'RE MARRIED!!!! And he responded with "WE'RE GOING TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!!!!"

I had no idea we were going there and NO idea he was going to tell me right then and there. 

Call me a control / plan freak. But I LOVE surprises from this kid :)

We're back!!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and sweet notes along the way! We are officially Mr. & Mrs. Brooklyn boy and are working to get back in the swing of normal life :) We still feel overwhelmed and full from the wedding weekend! We had friends and family in from all over the country, we ate large delicious amounts of tex mex and bbq and all the seemingly 'big details' seemed to come together without a hitch!

Since Hannah and Brooklyn Boy are on their HONEYMOON she gave me the opportunity to post.  Don’t miss the Nate Berkus show today.  It's an All-Star DIY Showdown, and I’m confident it’s going to be good!

And, don’t you worry.  I’m pretty sure Hannah will give you a play by play of the wedding.  It was absolutely perfect in every way.  The weekend was packed full of Tex-Mex, dancing, trendy Brooklynites, sweet Alabama accents and love for the newlyweds.  How's that for a teaser?

this season (as in the 5 days prior to becoming a mrs.) is exciting, overwhelming, blurry (like the above picture snapped on the subway), busy, imperfect, memorable, full, warm, crazy, surreal, and just plain fun. 

i'll update as the week progresses! seems like this blog has become a wedding play by play :) that's just life at the moment. we'll have fun DIY things and an apartment overhaul to share post wedding & honeymoon!

HKF and BB to move everything from 2 South Slope apts to new apartment in North Park Slope! 

Yipeee!! Mom comes tonight to help get the house apartment situated before we get married!! 

16 days friends!

I've ordered this fabric for a special reception detail, but haven't seen it in real life. 

I've ordered a dozen of these babies and have only seen them on my sisters feet via iphone pictures!

I won't bore you with all the pictures of napkins, bridesmaid gifts and welcome baskets :) Producing a wedding from a far has been surprisingly fun - but that's only because my family, friends and Brooklyn Boy have been delightfully sweet, helpful and flexible. 

Oh. OH! One more thing, last night Brooklyn Boy and I made a spontaneous trip to Home Depot, picked up 2 gallons of Behr Paint & Primer in One in Burnished Clay and Ultra White trim paint and went to TOWN on the hallway in his apartment :) Totally one of my favorite things about him - he's a doer. He gets an idea and moves on it! The hallways looks amazing. His goal is to finish the living room this weekend. I. Am. SO. Excited. I'll move in once we get married, but you better believe that apartment will be spic and span before we're married! 

We're making progress folks!

Feeling especially thankful for the surprise, planned and spontaneous get together's that have happened over the past two weeks! 

Brooklyn Boy's attire this morning :)

Since moving to Brooklyn, I've realized something . . . I. Love. Routine.

Brooklyn Boy and I live a mere 3 blocks away from each other - quite a treat after reading my way through the hour subway ride I had gotten so used to. 

With out late nights and long commutes, our bed times have leveled out considerably. I'm realizing . . .  We are at our best in the mornings! Each morning this week we've met at a cafe in between our apartments for coffee. We get it to go, and walk the short distance to the F train. We excitedly talk about wedding details and Brooklyn Boy's new job.  Before I know it, we're at the West 4th station where I switch trains. With a quick kiss and a cheers of our cups, we part ways. And that, my friends, is the routine I love.
